WORK IN CANADA by Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP)

Canadian Employers may hire foreigners to fill the gap of labour, competent foreign workers who are already in Canada are also eligible. Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) is limited to four years of working in Canada but have an option to apply for a Permanent Residence. A work permit is needed in this type of program, it is a legal document that permits a foreigner to be employed in Canada. Working in Canada is one of the pathway to live in the country permanently.

OPEN WORK PERMIT IN CANADA

An open work permit is a legal document that is not job-specific. It permits a foreign national to be employed in Canada. Having this type of permit is valid for multiple employers in various Canadian locations. This is normally issued to several immigration programs such as PostGraduation Work Permits (PGWP) and Spouse Open Work Permit (SOWP) Canada.

WHAT IS SPOUSE OPEN WORK PERMIT (SOWP) CANADA

Having a spouse who is currently working or studying in Canada or a sponsored for permanent residence by spouse or partner can be eligible to apply for an open work permit.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR A SPOUSAL WORK PERMIT AND VISA

In a relationship with a qualifying foreign national principal applicant, permanent resident or citizen

Spouse of a qualifying foreign national as Canada sponsorship

 No criminal record and medically admissible

BRIDGING OPEN WORK PERMIT (BOWP)

Bridging open work permit (BOWP) allows a foreign nationals who are currently working in Canada and wanting to extend their status while waiting for the approved permanent resident application.

ELIGIBILITY

Currently resides in Canada holding a valid temporary status

 Valid work permit

 Submitted work permit renewal and has maintained status in Canada

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

  • Agri-Food Pilot (AFP)

  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
